Conservative Group Pestors AOC With New Billboards in Times Square Just Ahead of Primary
A conservative business group is making their stance known by spending over $100,000 on three billboards in Times Square. These billboards, promoting Ocasio-Cortez’s opposition, are a clear sign of their determination just ahead of the primaries.
The Job Creators Network has slammed Ocasio-Cortez while promoting her Democratic challenger, Martin Dolan, who they claim will support small businesses in the U.S.
The Upcoming Primary Elections
The primary elections are forthcoming in the U.S., and it’s becoming apparent which members of Congress are beloved and who may be struggling to retain their seats.
Despite becoming the youngest woman and Latina to ever serve in Congress, Ocasio-Cortez is one of many who have lost favor among Americans in her region, and many want to see her term come to an end this election.
The Job Creators Network
The nonprofit group The Job Creators Network is one such organization that clearly has a bone to pick with Ocasio-Cortez, who represents New York’s 14th Congressional District.
They have been vocal about their desire to see Ocasio-Cortez lose her place as a member of the U.S. House and have gone so far as to spend around $100,000 on several billboards in New York promoting her opponent, Martin Dolan, per The New York Post.
Texas-Based Group Back Democrat
This will be the first time the Texas-based conservative group has ever backed a Democratic nominee in Dolan, who is a former Wall Street Investor.
They hope their efforts will help end Ocasio-Cortez’s time in Congress, claiming that the Bronx and Queens representative is a severe “threat to American small businesses.”
Group Blames Ocasio-Cortez for Problems in New York
On the morning of Wednesday, June 19, several billboards appeared in Times Squares funded by the group alleging that Ocasio-Cortez was to blame for several downfalls in New York.
They accused her of “rising crime,” “illegal immigration chaos,” “out of control energy costs,” “sky-high grocery prices,” and embracing “defunding police.”
Vote For Martin Dolan
Instead of reelecting Ocasio-Cortez, known to many by her initials AOC, the group has advocated for Dolan, whom they believe can bring prosperity back to the area and help struggling local businesses.
“Time to pack it up. Vote Democrat Martin Dolan now,” said one of their billboards.
Ocasio-Cortez Caused 25,000 Lost Jobs
This isn’t the first time The Job Creators Network has targeted AOC. In 2019, the group funded similar billboards, one claiming that the three-term congresswoman had played a pivotal role in the loss of 25,000 jobs due to the Amazon HQ2 termination.
At the time, AOC readily spoke out against Amazon’s proposed deal to build an enormous headquarters in the state, which could have resulted in at least $4 billion in wages.
A Threat to the American Way of Life
Speaking on their actions, Alfredo Ortiz, the CEO of the JCN, alleges, “AOC is a threat to American small businesses and America’s way of life.”
He continued, “Her policies are responsible for the crime, migrant and economic crises burdening her constituents in New York and around the nation.”
The Voice of Moderation in New York
Ortiz said, “Democrat Marty Dolan is a much-needed voice of moderation that will help small businesses and working families in New York City and beyond.”
“New York City residents looking to stop the bleeding and undo AOC’s damage should vote for Dolan now,” he said.
Dolan Slams AOC
In the lead-up to the primaries, AOC has refused to debate Dolan on several occasions.
However, this hasn’t stopped the Democratic nominee from sharing his opinion on the congresswoman. The 66-year-old has slammed AOC on several occasions, claiming she’s a member of the progressive “squad” that continues to enable crime in the state with its soft policies.
AOC Looks Set to Win
Unfortunately for the JCN and Dolan, Ocasio-Cortez easily defeated her Democratic opponent, receiving over 82% of the votes with 20% of the ballot counted when the primary was called on the evening of June 25.
While nothing is set in stone just yet, it appears AOC has all but guaranteed her reelection in November.
Ocasio-Cortez Confident Before Voting
Even before voting commenced, AOC appeared relatively confident she would keep her seat in Congress.
She shared the following message to X, “The cynics will tell you that one vote won’t change anything. But what they don’t tell you is that nothing can change without a vote.”
